What differentiates red jalapenos from green jalapenos is basically age. While the green peppers are picked when they are young, red chilies are allowed to mature longer on the plant, thus developing more capsaicin (the hot compound). The green fruit is fresher and milder tasting than the hot, sweet red chili.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve with Crackers and Cheese
  • Mix with equal parts of Cream Cheese and use as a Dip or Sandwich Spread
  • Spread on Burgers instead of ketchup
  • Top off Steak with a dollop of jelly
  • Ten mins before end of cooking, glaze Chicken or Pork
  • Glaze Fish one min before end of cooking
  • Add to Coleslaw
  • Add to Chili Con Carne
  • Use in a Stir Fry
  • Stir into cooked Pasta and cream

I’m from California and we know our peppers.  However, I just got my November box from Irish at Heart. I’m thinking jalapeños + Ireland?  Don’t know how that’s going to work out. Stop the presses. THIS IS THE BEST JALAPENO JELLY I’VE EVER HAD!  So stinking good.  My sinuses thank you. My taste buds are busy happy dancing. And perfect color and consistency. So do you ship to the United States? I think my food snob chef son and my Mexican/Hawaiian son-in-law might need some for Christmas. And maybe another jar for me because this one is not being shared. Period.  Whine all you want, I don’t care. It’s mine.
